Why use Trustys?
Trustys is a FREE local service and we know each of our members personally. We have a good working relationship with them and we share a mutual respect. All our traders know what is expected of them (view Our Standards) as a Trustys member and we hold them accountable.
Trustys is different from other tradesmen websites.
We are very selective about the businesses we accept as members and only about half of the applications will be welcomed aboard as our Trustys can’t just apply for a listing – they have to be recommended by their customers. Those we accept we believe will do their best to meet our standards at all times and will work with us in the unlikely event of any problem occurring (see Our Complaints Procedures)
Having rental properties meant I needed tradesmen for repairs, and knowing how to find good ones was a challenge.
So this led to me setting up Trusty Trades in 2011. I asked fellow landlords, friends and neighbours to recommend their good tradesmen and I logged them all in a simple website for us all to share locally.
Very quickly my small, local project turned into a great success, with thousands of local people and many organisations depending on it to find good tradesmen. Our ‘Trusty’ tradesmen came to love it too as most of them quickly began to get the bulk of their work through Trusty Trades.
I was asked in 2014 if I’d consider doing something similar to help promote ‘trusty’ professional businesses, as people were having the same problems there. I did a lot of research over the months that followed to find out what would work best for the professional businesses and in 2015 I launched my Trusty Professionals website.
Where we are now
Having listened to our customers’ & members’ feedback, we decided it was time for a change and to bring our Trusty Trades and Trusty Professionals under one roof – the Trustys family.
As Trustys has become more popular I’ve taken on other people to help and support me so we now have our Trustys Team
Extending throughout Scotland
While we’re keen to push on and offer our Trustys services throughout Scotland, we’ll move at a pace that’s right for us, making sure we maintain the same levels of trust and quality we’ve built up since 2011.
Because local knowledge and personal service is so important to us, we’ll appoint a Trustys representative for each area who knows their local area and their local businesses. Our reps will be carefully selected for their good judgement and it’ll be their job to recommend businesses to us that they believe will uphold our high standards. They’ll also be the point of contact for their area so that the service we provide remains local and personal.
Hello. I’m Lynn (Reid) Hunter and I live in Grangemouth (Central Scotland). Although I’ve lived most of my life in Grangemouth, I was born in Bridge of Allan so sadly I can’t claim to be a true ‘Portonian’.
My 29 years’ career was in banking with RBS, mainly on the legal side which I loved, then for the last few years in management. I became a private landlord in 2006, which allowed me to give up my high pressure career when my husband, Les, took early retirement from Forth Ports. As a step mum, this was a great chance to be involved with my new wee grandsons.
